There are various factors contributing for Gross Salary:
1. Basic Pay -  The Basic Pay of Your Post
2. DA- It is dearness allowance revised twice a year by the Government
3. HRA - House Rent Allowance for Government Servants
4. TA- Travelling Allowance
5. SSA- Special Security Allowance (20% of Basic Pay) which is applicable only in CBI, NIA, IB, SPG etc Institutions.
